Welcome!

My name is Lucy Song - I’m a flutist, collaborative musician, and educator based in OKC.

Biography

Lucy Song is a versatile collaborative musician and educator, recognized for her engaging performances and teaching across the United States, Canada, and Europe. She is on faculty at Oklahoma City University’s Wanda L. Bass School of Music as Assistant Professor of Flute, and enjoys a multifaceted career as a teacher, soloist, and chamber and orchestral musician. Lucy is honored to represent Wm. S. Haynes Company as a Haynes Young Artist.

Teaching

It is a great privilege to be able to teach the Oklahoma City University Flute Studio, and it has been my honor to have taught students across the University of North Texas, Northwestern University, the DFW metroplex, Chicago, and Montreal. It is a rewarding and humbling experience - I learn from my students every day! I have taught all ages, from 5 to 85, and I particularly love to guide college students to reach their highest potential.

Being able to play chamber music with friends and colleagues is one of the great joys of being a musician!

Picture above is Vox Venti, a flute quartet comprised of local performers and friends: Alaina Clarice, Linda Jenkins, Jessica Schury, and Lucy Song. Vox Venti seeks to showcase new works by underrepresented composers and add to the dynamic genre of flute quartet repertoire. They have performed at the Texas Flute Society Festival, the Mid-Atlantic Flute Convention, and the Florida Flute Convention.
